What is the cost to join the Club?
Joining fee is $10, Annual subscription is $10.
Can I pay Club fees in cash as I don't do online payments?
Yes, you can pay in cash for all Club activities.
Do I have to be a member to attend activities?
Yes, you need to be a member to attend activities. However, non-members can attend once to see if they like the activity.
Are the activities cheap?
Yes, the activities are extremely cheap. Activities such as cards, indoor bowls, mahjong, pa-tuan-chin, pool, snooker, and table tennis only cost $2. That's just to cover the cost of a cuppa and biscuit. Also bus trips and parties are heavily subsidized by the Club.
How do I find out about upcoming activities that may interest me?
The Club regularly emails members keeping them up-to-date on all events.
How easy is it to make friends at the Club?
It is super easy to make friends as the Club is primarily a social/friendship club. Some activities, like dancing, are of themselves designed to facilitate friendship. While other activities foster friendships organically through shared social interaction.
There are a lot of competitive activities such as cards, mahjong, table tennis, pool, snooker, and indoor bowls. How important is the element of competition?
Competition only exists to add excitement to the activity. There are no scoreboards or prizes to be won.
